Hot New BMW X5 Is Here!
The fifth generation of the popular SUV comes hot on the heels of the refreshed competition from the German stable mates... Mercedes with the refreshed GLE, Audi with the new and exciting Q7, and Porsche with the ballistic Electric Cayenne.
With this new generation of the X5, styling has been aligned with the full range almost now completely on the Neue Klasse design language. Though this X5 is still using the older CLAR architecture as opposed to the Neue Klasse platform. Inside out it's the full Neue Klasse treatment which are so good to the eye.
Starting with the exterior design the headlights are really stunning with the X design, they really stand out and the car is really a looker. The small grill is welcome and the full length light signature really makes for a bold new look.
Down the side the panels are smooth since now there are no door handles on the side, instead there is a latch on top similar to what Ferrari has done with the Purosangue. All the doors can be automatically opened and locked which is first for a BMW SUV, with soft closing in tow. The rear also looks good particularly with the light design standing out.
Inside we are now welcomed to the new and rather polarizing steering wheel and the now AI powered BMW Panoramic iDrive Display. The center screen is trapezoidal and a passenger display can also be optioned for some on-the-go passenger entertainment.Apple Carplay and Android Auto are standard and so is the 45W wireless charging. Ambient light features have been elevated to make the cabin feel more cozy. There is a use of different materials like slate on the panels to make the cabin feeling more special.
Powertrain options for the new X5 are wide. It can now be had with 5 different choices. Petrol, Diesel, Plug-In-Hybrid, Electric & Hydrogen are all available. For our market of course people will go for Petrol & Diesel mainly, even Plug-Ins are a bit of a rare sight. The petrol one will be the first to be rolled out before the rest of the powertrains follow suit!
